In 2017 Jean and Robin connected to create and sing songs of the heart through their music duo Notan

Jean Farmer

J

ean Farmer has honored her joy of singing from her earliest days: singing with her sisters in the common task of washing dishes, composing original music, and leading songs around the campfire. In the late 1990s she co-founded the folk trio Amaryllis, which performed in the West County for 8 years. She is also a six-year member of the Joyful Noise Gospel Singers. A registered nurse for 35 years, Jean spent her working career in a variety of settings, ultimately managing the plant medicine pharmacy, working with Integrative Health providers and providing health education at the Indian Health Clinic in Santa Rosa. Since retiring from Nursing, singing and songwriting has become a major focus in her life. It is, for her, a spiritual practice: a path to centering, a form of self-expression, and a way to create and build community.
